Dynamips and dynagen let you create a virtual Cisco router on a Linux box. It would be even better if that router was reachable from the LAN, wouldn’t it? I was surprised ifconfig wouldn’t return an interface for my Atheros chipset based Netgear wireless card. Unlike Redhat, Madwifi does not seem to compile on Ubuntu, no matter what version is used.
