Avant d&rsquo;utiliser la baie pour un autre projet de base donn\u00e9es, j&rsquo;ai voulu mesurer et optimiser les acc\u00e8s aux disques SAN depuis Windows 2003 Server et Linux Redhat 5.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Environnement<\/h3>\n<p>4 disques ont \u00e9t\u00e9 configur\u00e9s en RAID 10.<br \/>\nToutes les interfaces sont forc\u00e9es en 1G sur les serveurs et la baie.<br \/>\nLes serveurs sont connect\u00e9s au SAN via 2 interfaces en mode actif\/actif ce qui donne un d\u00e9bit th\u00e9orique maxi de 250MB\/s (un peu moins en tenant compte des en-t\u00eates de frames).<br \/>\nLes jumboframes ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9sactiv\u00e9es, les switchs ne les supportent pas. On pourrait gagner un peu en performance en les activant.<br \/>\nJ&rsquo;ai aussi jou\u00e9 avec le Read ahead cache mais pas de diff\u00e9rence notable.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Comparatif<\/h3>\n<p>Les tests ont \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9s avec un simple dd sur Linux et Diskbench sur Windows.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<pre>Reads\t\tMB\/s\tIO\/s\nWindows\t\t70\t1100\nLinux\t\t110\t900\n\nWrites\t\tMB\/s\tIO\/s\nWindows\t\t140\t2100\nLinux\t\t140\t400\n<\/pre>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Optimisations<\/h3>\n<p>Il n&rsquo;y a eu aucune optimisation particuli\u00e8re sur Linux. La partition a \u00e9t\u00e9 format\u00e9e par d\u00e9faut en ext3 sur une partition LVM.<br \/>\nSur Windows, je souligne qu&rsquo;il n&rsquo;y avait pas de fragmentation, le disque \u00e9tait vierge. La fragmentation d\u00e9t\u00e9riore consid\u00e9rablement les performances. La partition a \u00e9t\u00e9 format\u00e9e en NTFS avec des clusters de 4k: aucune diff\u00e9rence notable en augmentant la taille des clusters.<br \/>\nLa partition a \u00e9t\u00e9 <a href=\"http:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/kb\/929491\/en-us\">align\u00e9e<\/a> avec le disque \u00e0 sa cr\u00e9ation sous diskpart. C&rsquo;est un d\u00e9faut de Windows 2003 Server. Cela permet de gagner environ 5MB\/s.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Et donc?<\/h3>\n<p>2 questions:<br \/>\nPourquoi La MSA 2012i est plus rapide en \u00e9criture qu&rsquo;en lecture!?<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nPourquoi Windows ne d\u00e9passe pas les 70M en lecture?<br \/>\nJ&rsquo;ai gagn\u00e9 environ 5M avec les optimisations Windows ci-dessus mais nous semblons atteindre une limite.
